The City of Port Moody invites seniors, newcomers, and anyone who is new to our recreation programming to join us for Seniors Try It Week from September 7 to 12, 2025. Visit our recreation facilities, try out different programs and activities for free, engage with our community partners, and create meaningful connections. Registration is open for Port Moody residents – sign up today! Non-residents are eligible to register starting Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Enjoy a variety of free programs such as:

  • Qigong/tai chi;
  • Dance for Health and ballroom dancing;
  • fitness classes;
  • special events and social time in our Youthful Lounge; and
  • social meet-and-greets with Men’s Shed, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Port Moody Fire Rescue, and Port Moody Police.

And be sure to join us for our Seniors Try It Week wrap-up celebration with live music and refreshments – there is a $5 participation fee for this event. Visit portmoody.ca/tryit for a full list of activities and events. Register online at portmoody.ca/signmeup or by phone at 604-469-4556.

Starting September 7, swing by Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street) or the Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road) to pick up your passport. Then, attend activities throughout the week and collect stamps from City staff. Each stamp earns you a chance to win a prize.

We are giving away the following:

  • one $200 City of Port Moody Recreation cash card
  • two $100 City of Port Moody Recreation cash cards
  • three $50 City of Port Moody Recreation cash cards

Don't miss out on your chance to win. Attend and stamp at least one activity by September 9 to enter our early bird draw. Hand in your completed passport at Kyle Centre or the Recreation Complex by September 12, 2025 to be entered into the main prize draw.

We aim to make Seniors Try It Week inclusive and accessible for all participants. If you need support or adaptations to participate, or have questions about accessibility at our facilities, please email recreationinclusion@portmoody.ca or call 604-459-4556.
