Recreation facilities will remain closed to the public, only recreation staff, program participants and a parent (no siblings) are permitted inside. 

Arena 1 and Arena 2 will be open this Fall for skating lessons, private lessons as well as private hockey lessons and adult power skating.  We will not be open for public skating at this time and the curling center will also remain closed.

Skating and hockey programs

We offer several skate lessons and hockey programs that teach children and adults how to play hockey plus a variety of learn to skate programs for all ages. 

Physical distancing measures will be in place;

  • there will be a maximum of 20 skaters one the ice at one time;
  • group lessons have of maximum 4 students per class 
Skate Lesson & Program Expectations
  • Doors will open 15 minutes prior to your program or activity time slot. Please line up on markers distanced 2 metres apart.
  • Recreation facilities are closed to the public, only recreation staff, program participants and a parent (no siblings) are permitted inside. 
  • Children (and parents) are encouraged to wash their hands and use the washroom prior to lesson start.
  • Please wait for one of our Recreation Hosts to greet you and check you in.
  • Practice physical distancing. During sign-in, please stay two metres (six feet) away from anyone who is not a member of your household.
  • Only registered children can participate in the program and be in the program space. Parents are to remain at their allotted spot with their children’s belongings for the duration of the program and adhere to social distancing measures.
  • There is no re-entry into the facility once you leave.

Equipment rentals
In response to COVID-19 our skate shop will remain closed and we will not offer equipment rentals at this time. 
Wear a helmet
CSA-approved hockey, ski or snowboard helmets are mandatory for children 12 and under during all skate lessons and public skates. If you are an adult attending the stick-and-puck or drop-in hockey, you must wear a CSA approved helmet with a face cage or visor. Bicycle helmets are prohibited because they don't offer the proper protection.
Curling Centre (CLOSED)

The Curling Centre will remain closed until further notice.

The Port Moody Curling Club offers a variety of curling programs through the Recreation Complex curling centre. This includes kid's leagues, mixed leagues, recreational leagues, and men's and women's leagues.
