Recreation Program Areas
We divide our programs into five age categories, Preschool (0-5), Children (5-11), Youth (Grade 6-12), Adult (18+) and Seniors (60+). We encourage residents of all ages to participate in meaningful recreation, be active, meet new people, and try something new.

Winter programs for preschoolers will be held indoors and active parent participation is required. Childminding & Jungle Gym We are not offering Childminding or Jungle Gym at this time. Early Learners Outdoor Playschool Our Early Learners Nature Playschool program runs from September to June at Glenayre Centre and The Recreation Complex. This play-orientated, learning program for three-and-four year olds promotes outdoor learning in a friendly, positive and fun-filled atmosphere. This program is available at two different recreation facilities in the City, The Recreation Complex and Glenayer Centre. Registration for the 2021-2022 Early Learner programs starts Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 8am. |

We offer a range of programs for children between the ages of five and eleven. These include theatre, dance, fitness, gymnastics, sports, and more. Afterschool Club We offer our Afterschool Club programs at elementary schools throughout the city. These are a great way for your child to stay active, meet new friends, and have fun! Our afterschool programs have something for everyone. Pro-D Day programs We offer special children's programs on all district wide Professional Development days throughout the year. Pro-D day programs may include hockey, lacrosse, hiking, mindfulness, and life skills programs. Grades 5 and 6 Active cards If you are a student enrolled in School District 43 and in Grades 5 or 6, you qualify for the Get Active and Stay Active cards. These cards provide free and discounted access to drop-in swimming, skating, and gym programs at all Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam recreation centres. Your card will expire on Labour Day. Winter 2021 Drop-in Youth Basketball
Youth Zoom Hangs We are also excited to launch our new online "Zoom Hangs," free virtual drop-in for youth. 45 minutes of games, prizes and just chilling with other youth and youth leaders. Kids ages 11-14 years can join us on Tuesdays and teens ages 15-18 years can hang on Thursdays, be sure to register for your spot in the Drop-in Youth section of our online registration system.
Port Moody Youth Scholarship Program If you're in Grade 12 and intend to pursue a post-secondary education after you graduate, you can apply to the Port Moody Youth Scholarship Program. Each year, we award a $1,000 scholarship to a student in our city. |

We offer a variety of programs, including fitness classes and memberships, dance and art programs, wellness programs and workshops, and drop-in sports - for all adult ages and abilities Drop-in sports Can't commit to participating in a sports league, but still want to play? We offer a variety of recreational activities to meet the social, community, and fitness needs of our senior residents. Our recreation programs and services for seniors include a walking track, community programs including cards and billiards, low cost social activities, and volunteer-led programs. Whether you are looking to get moving or meet new friends, Port Moody has a recreation program for you. Walking track schedule The Walking Track is now open by registration only. You will be able to book a 45-minute block of time using our online booking system, or call (604)469-4556 during office hours. You must book 24 hours in advance of your desired track time. More information Registered Walking Programs Join us for some crisp "Walk & Talks" this winter around Port Moody trails. Learn about our local flora and fauna or enjoy the shoreline trail and a light stretch in the park. It's up to you! All walks are lead by City staff, advance online registration is required or call (604)469-4556. Kyle Centre Kyle Centre is currently closed. Drop-in Tai Chi has moved to the Recreation Complex and now takes place in the Wellness room. |
City of Port Moody Parental Consent Form
Parents or Guardians are required to complete a Parental Consent Form for certain recreation programs and activities such as programs over 2 hours, camps, preschool programs, off-site activities and other programs as required. Forms must be printed and signed, hard copies delivered to staff on the first day of the program.
