POOLS ARE NOW CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2022

Aquatics Summer 2021

Westhill and Rocky Point Pools are open seven days a week throughout the summer from 12:00 or 12:30 until 7:30 or 7:45 a complete schedule can be found through our online booking system. The following registered drop-in sessions will also be offered:

  • Public swimming
  • Length swimming
  • Water running
  • Water walking
  • Aquafit

Participants must book all drop-in aquatic sessions through our online booking system.  Reservations start on Friday mornings at 8am for the following week (Monday to Sunday). 

A limited number of swim lessons will be available, registration is now on.

Please note that the low diving board is closed for repair at Westhill Pool.

Registered Drop-in Aquatics

 About Registered Drop-in Aquatics 

Aquafit

  • Classes begin the week of July 5
  • $5 per class
  • All levels welcome
  • Classes are 60 minutes
  • Dumbbells are provided, however we encourage you to bring your own 
  • Takes place at Rocky Point Pool

Length swim, water walking and water running

  • Limited length swims begin June 26
  • Water walking, water running and additional length swim sessions begin July 5 
  • $2 per session
  • Sessions are 45 minutes 

Public swimming 

  • Begins on June 26
  • Sessions are 60 minutes
  • Small swim equipment will be permitted; sinky toys, inflatable flotation rings, water wings, pool noodles, Lifejackets (PFD’s)
  • Children seven and under must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times (maximum of two children per adult)
  • Only registered swimmers are permitted inside facility
  • Grass area is closed and chairs are not available

How to withdraw from registered drop-in aquatics online

It is now possible to withdraw online from a registered drop-in aquatics activity:  

  • it must be 24 hours after you booked the activity
  • log into your account and select the person who you would like to withdraw
  • scroll down to "schedules" and click to expand
  • the activity will appear in the calendar, however you need to "switch to list view" and then find the activity you would like to withdraw from
  • then click on "Actions" on the right hand side and select withdraw
  • if you experience problems, please call us at 604-469-4556

Red Cross Swim Lessons

Red Cross swim lessons

A limited amount of Red Cross Preschool, Swim Kids and private swimming lessons will be offered at both pools.

  • Online registration begins at 8am on Tuesday, June 8 
  • Lessons begin the week of Monday, July 5
  • Lessons take place weekdays. No lessons Monday, August 2, BC Day.
  • Private lessons are offered in 1 week sets
  • Group lessons are offered in 2 week sets
  • All lessons are 35 minutes in length
  • Parent participation is required for all preschool levels, up to and including Swim Kids 3
  • Participants cannot be registered for more than one set of lessons at a time
  • Participants must have successfully completed the prerequisite level prior to registering for the next level
IMPORTANT! Prior to Registration
If you took lessons with us 2 years ago and have not completed lessons anywhere else since, your information is up to date and you can register online starting June 8, 2021.

If you are new to Port Moody Aquatics or completed lessons at another pool you are UNABLE to register until you complete the following:

  • Email a picture or scanned copy of the latest report card or a completed evaluation to  recreation@portmoody.ca
    • Email must include participant's first and last name and age as well as primary account member's name and phone number
    • Please allow 48 hours for information to be processed prior to phone registration
  • Once you have completed the steps above call (604)469-4556 to confirm your account is ready for registration

Know Before You Go - Swimming!

 Prior to arrival
  • stay home if you’re feeling sick
  • please arrive ten minutes prior to your booking time 
  • please wait outside designated entrance until a staff member greets you, and note new Rocky Point Entrance around westside of pool
  • the water fountain will not be available, we encourage you to bring a full water bottle (glass not permitted)
  • change rooms and lockers will be closed – please wear your swimsuit to and from the pool 
  • there will be a washroom available for use, but we encourage you to use the washroom at home before you arrive at the pool
While at the pool
  • viewers accompanying swimmers will be required to remain outside the facility
  • only registered swimmers are permitted inside facility
  • grass area is closed and chairs are not available
  • please bring your own kickboard, pull buoy, hand paddles, goggles, or running belt 
  • small swim equipment will be permitted; sinky toys, inflatable flotation rings, water wings, pool noodles, Lifejackets (PFD’s)
  • Lifejackets will be available upon request
  • you will be asked to leave immediately after your session 
  • pool will close during lightning, thunder, and heavy rain
  • no re-entry into the facility
