If you are in Grades 6 to 12, you can sign-up for one of our many youth programs to meet new friends, get active, and have fun. We provide fitness and dance classes, sports programs, babysitting training, first aid classes and more!
Youth Week

Youth Drop-ins
Youth in grade 6-12 have exclusive access to our Youth Lounge and the gymnasium during select times. The Youth Lounge is located in the Recreation Complex and is a FREE safe space for youth in grades 6 to 12 to hang out, spend time with friends, and make new ones. The gymnasium is open to youth only Wednesday through Saturday evenings.
Starting April 2, 2024 we are implementing stricter verification procedures to ensure that drop-ins are exclusively for grades 6-12. Please bring a go-card as proof of grade, and youth might want to consider keeping a photo on their phone as backup.
Middle School Youth Club
Take part in our Middle School Youth Club. These clubs provide afterschool programs for youth in grades 6 to 8 throughout the school year. You will take part in a variety of fun activities including, cooking classes, science experiments, arts and crafts, and more! Learn more about the programs offered at two schools in Port Moody:
Youth scholarship program
Each year, we award one Grade 12 student with a $1,000 scholarship. Learn more about the youth scholarship requirements and application.
Youth Focus Committee
The Youth Focus Committee provides advice and recommendations on youth issues, programs, opportunities, trends, and initiatives that impact youth in the City of Port Moody. The committee consists of 15 community youth between the ages of 12 and 19 years of age as well as two members of Council serving as Council representatives.
The Youth Focus Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month, September - June.
