Know before you go

The safety of our residents and employees is our top priority. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, special measures are in place at all our Recreation facilities including:

  • extra cleaning of indoor areas
  • limited class sizes
  • line-up and check-in procedures
  • dedicated entrances and exits for specific program areas, as well as signs and floor markings, to maintain the safe flow of indoor traffic

Face masks are required in all public indoor settings including while exercising. Access to the Recreation Complex is limited to people who are registered for a class, activity, or program. The building remains closed to the general public. If you are scheduled to come to the Recreation Complex please be sure to:

  • arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your start time, late entry will not be permitted
  • bring a full water bottle and be ready for class or program as there is no access to change rooms, showers, or lockers
  • limit the amount of personal items you bring into the facility

Health check

Staying home when you’re sick is one of the most important things you can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please perform a daily health check and do not enter the facility or participate in a program if you and/or anyone in your household has:

  • any cold, flu, or COVID-19-like symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, or loss of appetite;
  • has traveled to any country or airport outside of Canada within the last 14 days; or
  • has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Contact your healthcare provider if you have developed symptoms or have been in close contact with someone known to have COVID-19. The provincial government’s self-assessment tool can help you determine whether you may need further assessment or testing for COVID-19.
