Port Moody has two arenas and a curling centre located at the Recreation Complex, 300 Ioco Road.

Arena 1 - NHL size

The City hosts a variety of registered Ice Sports, including skating lessons and hockey programs as well as public skating. In the spring season, you'll find activities like ball hockey and lacrosse programs available for registration. We also host specialized events on the dry floor.

Sport organizations are allocated space as per the City allocation policy. Organizations book throughout the year through their designated user group contact. Individual teams must book through this designate. Meeting space and team photo locations are also available to rent.

Five million liability insurance is required for all rental bookings. You can find information on insurance here.

Waves Coffee House is located within the Recreation Complex and is a great option for coffee and nourishment during your visit. Fitness amenities are also available.

 Arena Advertising

The City of Port Moody Recreation Complex advertising reaches over 200,000 people each year. The facility contains a 5,000 square foot weight room, two gymnasiums, a curling centre, an aerobics studio, spin studio, walking track, hot tub and steam room. The complex is also home to two ice rinks, one NHL standard ice size, and the other is an international size rink, each has spectator seating for over 300 people. The complex is highly utilized all year round, we offer over 200 recreation and skating programs each season and are home to Port Moody Minor Hockey, Port Moody Minor Lacrosse, Port Moody Old-timers Hockey Association as well as the Inlet Skating Club and three well established Ball Hockey leagues.

Facility Code of Conduct

The Port Moody Recreation Complex is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all our patrons to enjoy. 

Facility Code of Conduct

  • Port Moody Recreation Complex patrons are required to;
    • Comply with staff direction. This includes any additional rules staff deem necessary to provide patrons with a safe and welcoming environment
    • Respect staff and fellow patrons
    • Be safe, consider the safety of others and yourself as the highest priority
    • Be a good sport and maintain self-control while participating or watching

 

  • Please observe the following:
    • Children must be at least 10 years of age to visit the Recreation Complex without adult supervision. Children 9 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times, unless they are enrolled in a class or program
    • We strongly encourage a scent free environment
    • Glass bottles are not permitted
    • The use of cameras, cell phone cameras or video recording devices is not permitted
    • Possession or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs is prohibited
    • The only animals permitted in the facility are trained service

 

Patrons not following the Facility Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the facility.

Pacific Coast Terminals Curling Centre

The Curling Centre is located within the Recreation Complex and has six sheets of ice. The Centre hosts a variety of curling leagues and bonspiels through the Port Moody Curling Club. The lounge is located above the Centre with a viewing of the ice sheets. A licensed bar is available, hours may vary based on club schedule. Licensed bar service can be requested during private rentals.

Limited private and school group curling ice rentals are available at the Curling Centre.

Port Moody Curling Club leagues play daytime and evenings throughout the week with some leagues held on weekends. The Port Moody Curling Club offers a variety of 'Try Curling' sessions throughout the season.
