Youth aged 11 to 18 are invited to share their thoughts on the future of Port Moody’s parks and trails

The City is hosting a special youth engagement event to help us gain insight into our younger residents’ vision for the future of Port Moody’s parks and trails. Youth aged 11 to 18 are invited to join us at a youth open house on Friday, May 31, 2024 between 5:30pm and 8pm in the Wellness Room at the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road). We want to hear from Port Moody’s young people about their needs and wishes as we plan improvements to our parks and trails.

At the open house, youth will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about ongoing parks and trails projects in the community;
  • engage in fun and interactive activities designed to gather valuable input;
  • share experiences and perspectives on using Port Moody's parks and trails; and
  • brainstorm ideas for new park spaces and amenities that can better serve youth.

There will be free pizza, snacks, and refreshments, as well as opportunities to win exciting prizes including the top prize of a six-month Port Moody Teen Recreation Pass (with access to public swimming, youth drop-in activities, fitness classes, and more)! There is no registration required.

We’ll use the input gathered at this open house to help inform several plans the City is currently developing to guide the future of Port Moody’s parks and trails. Information on each of these planning projects is available at Engage Port Moody, our online public engagement hub:
