seniors in a group

The City of Port Moody invites seniors, newcomers, and anyone who is new to our recreation programming to join us for Seniors Try It Week from June 17 to 21, 2024. Visit our recreation facilities, try out different programs and activities, engage with our community partners, and create meaningful connections. All activities and events during Seniors Try It Week are free.

Enjoy classes like tai chi or ukulele and socialize at meet-and-greet events with The Club (Port Moody Seniors Friendship Society), Men’s Shed, PoMoArts (Port Moody Arts Centre), Port Moody Fire Rescue, and Port Moody Police. Move to the music with ballroom dancing, Dance for Health, or Zumba in the Park. And be sure to join us for our Seniors Try It Week wrap-up party with refreshments and live music.

Visit portmoody.ca/tryit for a full list of activities and events. Register online at portmoody.ca/signmeup or by phone at 604-469-4556.

Make Seniors Try It Week even more fun by picking up a Participation Passport and entering our prize giveaway! Starting June 17, swing by Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street) or the Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road) to pick up your passport. Then, embark on a journey of discovery by attending a range of activities throughout the week. For each activity you join, collect a stamp from City staff. The more stamps you collect, the greater your chance of winning a prize.

We are giving away one each of the following:

  • annual recreation pass
  • 11-swipe recreation pass
  • $20 recreation cash card

Don't miss out on your chance to win. Hand in your completed passport at Kyle Centre or the Recreation Complex by June 21, 2024 to be entered into the prize draw.

Accessibility and inclusivity are core principles for Seniors Try It Week. We will make every effort to ensure that all community members, regardless of physical abilities or language barriers, can participate in our activities. If you require support or adaptations to participate, or you have questions about activities or accessibility features in City facilities, please contact recreationinclusion@portmoody.ca.
