The Shoreline Trail multi-use path (upper paved trail) between the trail entrance at San Remo Drive and just north of the bridge over Noons Creek is closed starting today, Wednesday, October 23 and will remain closed through Friday, October 25, 2024, from 7am to 7pm. This section of the multi-use path will also be closed Monday, October 28 through Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 7am to 7pm.

The purpose of these temporary closures is to allow crews to address minor deficiencies related to the Shoreline Trail Sanitary Sewer Upgrades Project, which was completed earlier this year. Pedestrians can detour to an open section of the lower gravel trail (see details below), though users are advised this lower path is not accessible for people who use wheelchairs, strollers, or other mobility devices.

A portion of the work – paving, scheduled for October 28 to 30 – is weather dependent. If paving cannot be completed as scheduled, the same section of the trail will be closed November 4 through November 6, pending favourable weather.

Traffic control personnel will be present at closure points to alert trail users. Pedestrians can use the lower gravel trail between Old Orchard Park (630 Alderside Road) and just north of Noons Creek as a detour. Bicycles are not permitted on the lower gravel trail – cyclists can use Ioco Road to travel to/from the north shore.

Due to work on the Shoreline Trail Boardwalk Replacement Project, the lower gravel trail remains closed between Murray Street and the junction with the upper paved trail north of the bridge over Noons Creek.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we complete this work, which is a part of the Shoreline Trail Sanitary Sewer Upgrades Project.
