Randomly selected residents encouraged to participate in Community Satisfaction Survey

The City of Port Moody’s 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey asks randomly selected residents how satisfied they are with the City’s performance and services, and the overall quality of life in Port Moody. Invitations to participate in this online survey have been sent via lettermail – if your household receives an invitation, we encourage you to complete the survey by August 16, 2024. 

Every two years, the City conducts a survey to find out how residents feel about life in Port Moody. The City has commissioned Ipsos, a professional public opinion research company, to conduct the 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey on its behalf. 

Why participate?
Survey responses help the City understand the needs and experiences of its residents. Council and staff use the insight gained from this survey to help guide strategic planning, budgeting, and decision making. 

It’s important for residents to have the opportunity to share feedback on their experience with the City. The survey asks questions on a variety of topics including quality of life, local issues, satisfaction with City services, and more. 

If you receive an invitation, we encourage you to share your thoughts by taking 15 minutes to complete the survey online. Council and staff value your input. 

Participant selection and rules
Approximately 8,000 households have been selected at random from a list of all households within Port Moody so that we can accurately represent and understand the experiences of residents. This survey is being conducted through a random sampling of residents in Port Moody to avoid bias in the survey results. This is a common approach for conducting statistically significant surveys of this kind. 

Only one member of the household can participate in the survey as the unique survey code is only valid for one use. The person who fills out the survey must be 18 years of age or older. 

Confidentiality and privacy
Information provided by participants will be kept confidential as required by law. All collected data will be used for research purposes only. Input will be analyzed and presented as a summary; individual responses will not be publicly available. Read the City’s privacy statement and Ipsos’s privacy policy.
