Port Moody Mayor and Council want to know what local residents think about the potential redevelopment of the former fire hall and current works yard sites on Ioco Road and Murray Street.

The City will host a "Community Ideas Fair" for the public on Saturday, June 11 from 1pm to 5pm. The event will be held in a large tent on the former fire hall site and people can drop by at any time to participate. There will be information displays, facilitated 3-D modelling exercises, video feedback stations, and other opportunities for public input.

“With the relocation of the fire hall in 2014, and the pending relocation of the works yard, an opportunity exists to repurpose these city owned lands which are strategically located the Inlet Centre neighbourhood,” says Mayor Mike Clay.

"It's close to the waterfront and shoreline trail, local shops, restaurants, the recreation complex and library, and it's only a five minute walk from the new Inlet Centre SkyTrain station. This is a significant opportunity for our City and Council wants to ensure any future use delivers the highest value for the community. We want to hear what people think."

If people can't attend Saturday's "Community Ideas Fair", information from the event and an online feedback form will be posted on the City website at www.portmoody.ca/engage on Monday, June 13. Paper copies will also be available at City Hall.
