In 2022, the City of Port Moody received funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development to create a childcare facility at the Westhill Community Centre and to partner with a non-profit childcare organization to operate the facility. The City selected operator “YMCA BC” as part of the publicly posted Request for Proposal RFP22-20 Westhill Child Care Centre Operator, awarded in November 2022.

Pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, the City of Port Moody intends to license a portion of the main floor of 203 Westhill Place, to YMCA BC, including 3153ft2 of indoor space and a dedicated outdoor play area of 2584ft2 for the operation of a licensed childcare facility and childcare resource and community uses, commencing January 1, 2025 for an initial five-year term with an option to renew for an additional five-year term, upon mutual agreement.

The annual licence fees, excluding GST, are as follows. Renewal term licence fees to be mutually agreed upon by the parties, at the time of renewal.
