Notice of closures on the lower gravel and boardwalk sections of Shoreline Trail

In preparation for work on Phase 1 of the Shoreline Trail Boardwalk Replacement Project, sections of the lower gravel and boardwalk Shoreline Trail will be closed from Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8, 2023.

• Monday/Tuesday, Dec 4, 5: the lower trail and boardwalk are closed between the access point at Noons Creek and connector trail behind Trasolini Field. Users will be detoured along the route signed and mapped for the Sanitary Sewer Upgrades project. This means trail users travelling between Murray Street and Old Orchard Park should be prepared to use a detour that is lengthier, and includes steep grades, roads, and crossing railway tracks. • Wed/Thurs/Fri, Dec 6, 7, 8: the lower trail and boardwalk is closed between the Murray Street entrance and the connector trail behind Trasolini Field. Users can access a short detour via the connector trail behind Trasolini Field. View a map of the closure and detour.

Please plan your routes accordingly – we appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete upgrades to this much-loved trail. Construction work on Phase 1 is anticipated to begin in mid-December 2023. More details about the trail closure and detour that will be required for the duration of the work on replacing the boardwalks will be shared in the coming weeks.
