Mayor-elect and councillors-elect to be sworn in at Inaugural Council Meeting on November 1

Port Moody’s mayor-elect and councillors-elect will be sworn in at an official ceremony during the Inaugural Council Meeting at Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Drive) on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. The meeting will start at 7pm with a reception to follow. Both events are open to the public – we invite you to join us to hear from your new Council, elected in the 2022 Port Moody General Local Election held on October 15, 2022.
If you plan to attend, please note the theatre doors will open at 6:30pm. If you would like to watch from home, this meeting will be live streamed at portmoody.ca/watchlive. You can find an agenda package and a video recording (available by 3pm on November 2) online at portmoody.ca/councilcalendar.
The following individuals, elected for a four-year term, will take the Oath of Office during the ceremony:
- Mayor-elect Meghan Lahti
- Councillor-elect Samantha Agtarap
- Councillor-elect Diana Dilworth
- Councillor-elect Kyla Knowles
- Councillor-elect Amy Lubik
- Councillor-elect Haven Lurbiecki
- Councillor-elect Callan Morrison
The ceremony will also include a performance by the École Moody Middle School of the Arts Choir as part of Art at Council, a program that gives artists a chance to share their work with the public and educate Council on the cultural projects taking place in our community.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the statutory meeting will be called to order. Each councillor will deliver an inaugural address, to be followed by Mayor Meghan Lahti’s inaugural address. The reception will begin immediately after the meeting has been adjourned.
