Don’t miss your chance to help shape the future of your community by voting in the City of Port Moody by-election on September 30, 2017.

The City must fill a vacant seat on its seven-member council. It’s your city, and your vote. It’s your chance to choose a councillor who will play an important role in the decision-making process on issues that directly affect you, such as utilities and roadwork, garbage and recycling, parks and recreation, municipal taxes, and community development. Make sure your voice is heard by casting a ballot in the by-election.

On September 30, polling stations will be open from 8am to 8pm in three convenient locations:

  • Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road);
  • Heritage Mountain Community Centre (200 Panorama Place); and
  • Glenayre Community Centre (492 Glencoe Drive).

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
  • a Canadian citizen;
  • a resident of B.C. for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
  • a resident of the City of Port Moody for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration.

If you are on the provincial list of registered electors, then you are already registered to vote in the by-election. If you are not on the provincial list of electors, you may register at the time of voting by completing the required application form available at each polling station. You must show two pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove residency and identity.
