Four community groups to receive funds through Port Moody grant program in 2018
Four community groups will share $17,100 in available funds through the City of Port Moody’s Community Grant Program this year.
The Community Grant Program provides financial assistance to community groups and non-profit organizations that contribute to the general interest and benefit of local residents and businesses. Port Moody’s Citizen Advisory Group (CAG) reviewed 21 eligible applications received in January 2018, and made a recommendation to Council as to which applications should be approved. The CAG is an advisory body made up of more than 250 Port Moody residents of all ages who volunteer their time to provide input on City issues. Council approved the final awards at a Special Meeting of Council on April 10, 2018.
The four applicants listed below will receive Community Grant Program funds for 2018:

Read City staff’s Report to Finance Committee (item 4.4) for a complete list of eligible applicants and the criteria used to evaluate the grant applications.
To be eligible for consideration, an application must meet the qualifications outlined in the City’s Grants to Organizations policy. As set out in the policy, 10 per cent of the annual budget approved for grants must be set aside for emergency requests. The 2018 budget was set at $19,000; a hold-back of $1,900 remains, to be awarded at Council’s discretion.
The deadline for Community Grant applications is January 31 each year. Visit portmoody.ca/communitygrants to learn more about the program.
