emergency training exercises in Rocky Point Park November 5, 2019.

The City of Port Moody and Port Moody Fire Rescue will be participating in a full scale emergency training exercise with North Shore Emergency Management on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, between 7:30am -12pm. There will be a marine vessel, helicopter, and hovercraft at the Rocky Point Park boat ramp, dock, and parking lot. The boat launch and surrounding area will be closed to the public during the exercise.

The exercise will focus on the areas in and around Vancouver Harbour and involves testing post-disaster supplies; contingency air, rail, road and marine transportation networks; and, for the first time in B.C., the distribution of relief supplies. Port Moody Fire Rescue staff will be coordinating North Shore staff and supplies to be transported to Cates Park in this mock disaster scenario in which both major bridges to the North Shore are compromised and unpassable.
