City seeks public feedback on proposed actions for Port Moody’s Climate Action Plan
The City invites Port Moody residents of all ages to attend its Climate Action Plan Open House at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm. We’ll be asking you to share your thoughts on a list of proposed actions that may be included in Port Moody’s Climate Action Plan.
Our Climate Action Plan will be a community-wide strategy to help the City and its residents adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
At the Climate Action Plan Open House, you can:
- review a list of proposed actions and give us your feedback;
- tell us about any obstacles or barriers that could prevent us from taking specific actions;
- and enter for a chance to win one of two $100 Compass cards.
Your feedback on the proposed actions will inform the development of a draft Climate Action Plan to be considered by Council in early 2020.
Municipalities throughout British Columbia are already experiencing the effects of climate change, such as extreme precipitation and an increase in average temperatures. Your input will help us create a climate action plan to guide our community as we adapt to the changes that are in progress, and reduce the impact of the changes that are yet to come.
