City seeks contractor caretaker for Rocky Point Park – submissions of interest due by Dec. 4, 2024
The City of Port Moody requires a contractor caretaker for Rocky Point Park. Submissions of interest will be accepted via email at facilities@portmoody.ca until Dec. 4, 2024.
The activities of the contractor caretaker include reporting any and all acts of damage or public nuisance witnessed in and around the park site to Port Moody Police and the City of Port Moody’s Manager of Facilities as well as recording the details of the incidents witnessed. The caretaker is expected to perform these activities at regular intervals each day of the week.
The City offers living space (including heat, light, and water) in the Rocky Point Pavilion for the contractor caretaker. Compensation will cover part of the rental cost for this unit. Monthly rent is based on market rates plus GST.
The contractor caretaker must have:
- their own WorkSafe BC insurance;
- (have or will develop) their own safe work procedures and policies which must meet with or exceed the provisions of the City’s rules, bylaws, and policies and any applicable legislative requirements including through WorkSafe BC;
- “all risks” property insurance that covers the contractor’s personal property within the park and within the rental unit; and
- comprehensive commercial general liability insurance that provides on an occurrence basis having a limit of not less than $5 million inclusive for any one occurrence.
Submissions of interest should include details of past caretaking positions and other related experience. Contractor caretakers under final consideration must provide a satisfactory police records search.
