Honeymoon Suite

The City of Port Moody and the Golden Spike Days Society are pleased to announce Canadian rock band Honeymoon Suite will be the headline performer for Canada Day celebrations at the 2023 Golden Spike Days Festival.

“Canada Day is a day to reflect on and celebrate our country’s diversity and the values that we share,” said Mayor Meghan Lahti. “In Port Moody, the City of the Arts, we value artistic expression in all its forms, including music. I’m thrilled to share the news that we’re bringing Honeymoon Suite to Port Moody for a special concert in Rocky Point Park, and I’m pleased the City is working again, as we do every year, with the Golden Spike Days Society, who always organize a fantastic festival experience for our residents and visitors.”

Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 1, 2023, when the City of Port Moody presents Honeymoon Suite starting at 8:30pm in Rocky Point Park (2800 block Murray Street).

Originally formed in 1981 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Honeymoon Suite released their self-titled debut album in 1984. The album had four charting hits (“New Girl Now,” “Burning in Love,” “Wave Babies,” and “Stay in the Light”) and attained platinum sales status in Canada. Their follow-up album, The Big Prize, was equally successful, with four more hits: “Bad Attitude,” “Feel It Again,” “What Does It Take,” and “All Along You Knew.” Propelled by the success of singles from their second album, Honeymoon Suite began to headline gigs throughout Ontario and the rest of Canada in 1985. Six more albums followed over the years, along with live albums and greatest hits collections. For spring and summer 2023, the band has live performance dates scheduled in Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, Alberta, and B.C.
