City of Port Moody closing all public playgrounds to help prevent spread of Coronavirus (COVID-1)

Effective immediately, the City of Port Moody is closing all public playgrounds until further notice. Parks and public washrooms will remain open to the public. We remind everyone that it is extremely important to maintain physical distancing (at least 2 metres apart from others).

What you can do
According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, the best way to protect yourself and your family is to:
- wash your hands often, for at least 20 seconds, with soap and water
- avoid touching your face
- cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
- avoid others who are unwell
- stay home when you’re sick

Stay up-to-date on COVID-19 by seeking out evidence-based sources of information such as:

- Public Health Agency of Canada
- World Health Organization
The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses, including the flu and common cold. They include cough, sneezing, fever, sore throat, and difficulty breathing.
Contact your healthcare provider if you have developed symptoms and have been in close contact with someone known to have COVID-19. Do the same if you develop symptoms and have been in contact with a traveller returning from an affected area with widespread community spread of COVID-19.
