Holiday Cheer at the Pier
November 30, 2019 from 6-8pm
Rocky Point Pier and Boat Launch (2800 block of Murray Street) 

The City of Port Moody presents Holiday Cheer at the Pier, a free, outdoor event for all ages. Warm up with a hot chocolate and enjoy a sugar cookie. Listen to carol singers, ride the Candy Cane mini train, and have your photo taken with Santa or Frosty the Snowman. At 6:30pm, we’ll flip a switch to light up the pier and gazebo for all to enjoy. 

Port Moody Fire Rescue will be at Holiday Cheer at the Pier collecting new, unwrapped toys for their 2019 Toy Drive. Please consider making a donation, as all toys collected will go to SHARE Family and Community Services to help make the holidays a little brighter for families in need.


 Port Moody Christmas Craft Fair
November 30, 2019 from 10am-4pm
Civic Centre Galleria (100 Newport Drive) 

Looking for unique gifts for family and friends? You’ll find them at the Port Moody Christmas Craft Fair. Head to the Galleria to browse handcrafted items from more than 40 local craft vendors, and enjoy festive snacks and entertainment. The Christmas Revelers

Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash
December 7, 2019 from 10am (dash start time) to 1pm (when the Finishers’ Festival wraps up)
Parkside Brewery (2731 Murray Street) 

Celebrate the holidays by running or walking five kilometres in your favourite ugly Christmas sweater, or come to enjoy the holiday music, craft beer, and free family entertainment. This event is a fundraiser for the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. Looking for a fun, family activity over the holidays? Lace up the skates and take a whirl around the Recreation Complex rink! Our Santa Skate, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve skates are only $3.50 per person and you can enjoy hot chocolate and play games on the ice!


Christmas Tea on the Train
December 8 and 15, 2019 at 10:30am, 1pm, and 2:30pm
Port Moody Station Museum (2734 Murray Street) 

Climb aboard the decorated train car and enjoy Christmas tunes while staff serve you tea or hot chocolate, scones, and warm smiles. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 per child (12 and under; kids aged three or younger are free). Reservations are required. CP Holiday Train Celebration
December 17, 2019, 5-8pm

Behind the Port Moody Recreation Complex (300 Ioco Road); Gym and Wellness Room, Port Moody Recreation Complex; and Civic Centre Galleria (100 Newport Drive) 

Celebrate the CP Holiday Train with free activities for the whole family. Between 5 and 7pm, cozy up next a roaring bonfire, listen to live music, and grab a cup of hot chocolate, a bowl of chili, or a hot dog (behind the Recreation Complex). 

At 5:20pm, the CP Holiday Train will roll into Port Moody! Watch the big arrival and then get ready to sing along with special guests Terri Clark and Dallas Smith at 5:45pm. Decked out in thousands of lights, the CP Holiday Train travels across Canada during the holiday season to raise food and cash donations for local food banks. Your generous donation will stay right here in the Tri-Cities with SHARE Family and Community Services. 

Starting at 6pm, enjoy more live music, holiday card printmaking, cookie decorating, face painting, and popcorn in the Wellness Room at the Recreation Complex. If you’ve got little ones with energy to burn, stop by the gym and play with all kinds of toys, balls, and gym equipment, before making a festive button. Finally, visit with Santa, and enjoy more colouring, crafts and cookie decorating in the Civic Centre Galleria. portmoody.ca/cpholidaytrain

Penguin Plunge
January 1, 2020 at 1pm (registration begins at 11:30am)
Rocky Point Pier (2800 block of Murray Street) 

Are you ready to take the plunge? Come on down and jump into the chilly waters of Burrard Inlet. There will be prizes for best costume (team and individual). This event, hosted annually by the Pleasantside Community Association, is a New Year’s Day tradition in Port Moody.


2019 Christmas Tree Chip
January 4 and 5, 2020 from 9am-4pm

Help your local firefighters raise money for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund while disposing of your Christmas tree. Members of Port Moody Firefighters Local 2399 are once again chipping trees, with all decorations removed of course! Can’t bring your tree to the Fire Hall? Email burnfund2399@gmail.com to ask about their tree pick-up service.
