Here’s a handful of events to get you into the holiday spirit:
Port Moody Christmas Craft Fair
Saturday, November 26, 10am-5pm
Civic Centre Galleria, 100 Newport Drive
The Christmas Craft Fair is back and better than ever! Find the perfect holiday gift for someone special, or pick up something unique for yourself. With more than 35 craft tables, there is sure to be something for everyone. Proceeds go to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Dash 2016
Saturday, December 3, 11am
Rocky Point Park, 2800 block of Murray Street
Celebrate the holidays by running or walking five kilometres in your favourite ugly Christmas sweater, or simply join the fun at the Finisher’s Festival, with its holiday-themed stations, snow blowers, and Christmas inflatables. Santa’s Christmas Ships
Friday, December 2, and Friday, December 16, 7:20pm
Rocky Point Park Pier, 2800 block of Murray Street
If you love holiday lights, you won’t want to miss Santa’s Christmas Ships. The ships will depart from Reed Point Marina at 7pm and should be in the Rocky Point Park area around 7:20pm. As it tours around Port Moody Arm, the fleet will pass by the pier as close as weather and tides allow.
Carol Ships

This holiday tradition, put on by Carol Ships Parade of Lights Society, has grown to more than 50 boats (on peak evenings) decorated with over 100,000 lights. On December 16, the Carol Ships will sail past Port Moody at approximately 8:35pm – bring out the family and view the decorated yachts from the shore.

Looking for a fun, family activity this Christmas break? Lace up the skates and take a whirl around the Port Moody Recreation Complex rink! Our Santa, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve skates are only $3.50 per person. Enjoy a hot chocolate and play games on the ice.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, presented by Theatrix Youtheatre Society

Beware the Herdmans! The nastiest, dirtiest kids you could meet, and they’ve decided they belong in this year’s Christmas pageant. The town thinks they belong in the care of the local police. CP Holiday Train
Saturday, December 17. Free public skate 2pm; activities start 3pm; Christmas tree lighting ceremony 3:45pm; train arrives 4:20pm.

Looking for an afternoon of free and festive family fun? The CP Holiday Train event is an annual favourite here in Port Moody, and we’ve got lots of activities lined up, including a visit with Santa and mini train rides. Christmas Tea on the Train, presented by the Port Moody Station Museum
Sunday, Dec. 18, seating times are 10:30am, 1pm and 2:30pm

Climb aboard the decorated train car and enjoy Christmas tunes while staff serve you tea or hot chocolate, sweets, and warm smiles. There are crafts for the kids, too!
The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker on film

Enjoy the Royal Ballet’s glorious production of The Nutcracker, created by Peter Wright in 1984. Tickets are available in person at the Inlet Theatre Box Office, starting at 1:15pm on December 19 ($8 students, $11 seniors, $13 adults).

The Port Moody Public Library invites you to Celebrate the Season at their annual family-friendly holiday event. Enjoy a special story time with carols, refreshments, and a visit from Santa. This free event is suitable for all ages.
Penguin Plunge

Are you ready to take the plunge? This event, hosted annually by the Pleasantside Community Association, is a New Year’s tradition in Port Moody. If you’d rather stay warm and dry, come on down and cheer on those brave enough to jump into the chilly waters of Burrard Inlet.
