Hours for City facilities and services vary throughout the holidays, except for essential services. Please see our schedule for December 23, 2024 to January 2, 2025 with adjusted hours for City Hall, Port Moody Public Library, Public Works Yard, waste collection, Recreation Complex, and Kyle Centre. Port Moody Fire Rescue and Port Moody Police will continue to provide essential services throughout this period.

Changes to service hours at a glance:

December 24, 2024:

  • City Hall and the Public Works Yard will close at noon
  • Port Moody Public Library will close at 3pm
  • Port Moody Recreation Complex will close at 4pm

December 25, 2024 through January 1, 2025:

  • City Hall and Kyle Centre will be closed
  • please check the holiday service schedule to see hours for other facilities, including the Recreation Complex, Works Yard, and Library
  • regular schedules for civic facilities, except for Kyle Centre, will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025
  • Kyle Centre reopens on Monday, January 6, 2025

Waste collection schedule December 24, 2024 to January 6, 2025:

  • Dec. 24, 2024: regular Tuesday zone collected
  • Dec. 25, 2024 (Christmas Day): no waste collection
  • Dec. 26, 2024 (Boxing Day): Wednesday zone collected
  • Dec. 27, 2024: Thursday zone collected
  • Dec. 30, 2024: regular Monday zone collected
  • Dec. 31, 2024: regular Tuesday zone collected
  • Jan. 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day): no waste collection
  • Jan. 2, 2025: Wednesday zone collected
  • Jan. 3, 2025: Thursday zone collected
  • Jan. 6, 2025: regular collection schedule resumes

Please note that City of Port Moody employees use earned leave or leave without pay during reduced hours over the holidays.

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY OR URGENT INQUIRY:

If you experience or witness an emergency and need ambulance, police, or fire rescue services, call 9-1-1. Non-emergency front office support at Port Moody Fire-Rescue follows the same holiday service schedule as City Hall.

In case of a public works, parks, or environmental issue (e.g. snow and ice, water leak, flood, contaminated stream), report the problem online at portmoody.ca/reportaproblem or call our 24-hour service line at 604-469-4574. If you have a question about waste collection, call 604-469-4574.

Make utility payments online or drop a cheque in our secure “Finance” drop box located near the back entrance to City Hall (100 Newport Drive).
