2019 Annual Report

City Manager Tim Savoie presented Port Moody’s 2019 Annual Report to members of Council at the July 28, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council. 

The City publishes an annual report each year in accordance with British Columbia’s Community Charter. The report contains the City’s financial statements, an independent auditor’s report, and a comprehensive statistical analysis; it also details how the City performed against its goals and objectives, as stated in the 2019-2022 Council Strategic Plan, and highlights the achievements of each City department. 

The 2019 Annual Report highlights a number of important statistics and achievements. For example, City staff:

  • helped 21,201 people register for recreational programs;
  • scanned 163,545 fitness membership cards;
  • issued 2,817 business licences, 308 building permits, and 27 filming permits;
  • hosted five major annual events and supported 18 special events and festivals organized by community groups;
  • collected 6,954 tonnes of solid waste (recycling, glass, green waste, and garbage) for an average diversion rate of 75.8 per cent;
  • cleaned 1,250 catch basins;
  • completed uni-directional flushing of approximately 45 kilometres of the City’s water distribution system;
  • planted 3,000 Naturescape trees and shrubs,15,000 annuals, and 26,200 bulbs;
  • delivered Bear Essentials information to more than 900 people through outreach events; and
  • responded to 1,312 fire/rescue incidents, including 327 fire calls, 671 first responder medical calls, and 102 motor vehicle incidents.
