NOTICE: The dog licence renewal e-bills were sent January 4, 2021. Your existing licenses will remain valid until the payment deadline of February 3, 2021. 2021 licence payments will be available after you have received your e-bill. Due to COVID-19 our Licencing Department is closed to the public. You can not apply for or renew a dog licence at City Hall. Please see instructions below.  In order to ensure you receive your invoice, you MUST have a myportmoody account and have registered your accounts.  If your dog is four months or older, you’ll need to purchase a dog licence and renew it every year. Read our Animal Control Bylaw to learn more. 

Apply for a dog licence

Please send us a completed Dog Licence Application along with a cheque for the licence fee, or visit the second floor counter at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) to apply. We'll provide you with a permanent, bone-shaped metal tag for your dog. We do not issue new tags each year. 

Please include a copy of the veterinarian's certificate of spaying or neutering with your application.

Renew your dog licence online! You'll receive a discount if you renew your licence on or before February 3.  

Visit myPortMoody to register and/or manage your dog licence account, and make a payment using your credit card. If you prefer, you can pay by cash, cheque, debit, or credit in person at City Hall.

Need help signing up for myPortMoody and registering your dog licence account? Follow our step-by-step instructions. 

We've gone paperless!

We no longer mail out paper renewal notices. To receive your dog licence renewal notices via email, you’ll need to log in to myPortMoody and choose eBilling when you’re registering a new dog account or editing an existing one. 

Once you have created your dog licence account your 2021 licence renewal will not be emailed to you however, it will be available for view and payment through your myPortMoody account. 

NOTE: Even if you have previously purchased a dog licence in Port Moody, you will not receive an email notification to renew your dog licence unless you have created a dog licence account online at myPortMoody and subscribed to eBilling.

If you're 65 years or older, we offer dog licences for $30. Just visit the Licensing Counter on the second floor at City Hall at 100 Newport Dr. and don't forget to bring some photo ID.

Your dog must be spayed or neutered. Dogs who are deemed aggressive or vicious do not qualify for the reduced fee.
