There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in the City. Becoming a volunteer is an excellent way to gain experience working with the public, it can teach you new skills, and you will make a difference in your community.
Join a committee
Port Moody has a variety of different committees and boards with positions available for the general public. Review all of our committees and get involved in your local government.
Citizen Advisory Group
The Citizen Advisory Group (CAG) is made up of more than 250 Port Moody residents of all ages who volunteer their time to provide input on City issues. Council seeks feedback from the CAG on a variety of topics, from budgets and master plans to new City projects and community development. We are not accepting applications for the CAG at this time.

We are looking for adults who want to give back to the community by hosting an activity or social group. If you have an idea you are passionate about, are inclusive and able to facilitate positive social interactions in a recreation setting, we want to hear from you. Volunteer for community events
Volunteer to help out at community events throughout the year like Canada Day, Car Free Day, Cheer at the Pier and CP Holiday Train. Applications are now closed for 2024, thank you.
To volunteer for community events you must be:
- Minimum 14 years old
- Able to communicate regularly over email regarding training and scheduling
- Able to complete a police information check
- Able to attend a group volunteer interview
