Port Moody’s draft Arts and Culture Master Plan is now available for review, and the City invites the public to provide feedback via an online form at portmoody.ca/acmp.
The Arts and Culture Master Plan will help shape the future of arts and culture in the community over the next 10 years. A draft version of the Plan was presented to Council in April 2017 and is now available on the City’s website. The Arts and Culture Committee will collect and consider feedback from stakeholder groups and the public, and make recommendations to Council in early fall regarding any potential amendments.
The City began the process of updating its Arts and Culture Master Plan in the fall of 2016 by engaging a consulting firm, MDB Insight, to lead the process. Community consultation, held between November 2016 and March 2017, included:
- a statistically relevant telephone survey of Port Moody residents, which yielded 400 responses;
- a public forum;
- an online survey;
- focus group sessions with Council, the City’s Arts and Culture Committee, City staff, arts and culture stakeholder organizations, and artists; and
- interviews with members of the business community, City staff, and arts, culture, and heritage stakeholders.
The draft Arts and Culture Master Plan and the feedback form can be found online at portmoody.ca/acmp. The City invites the public to provide feedback on Section 3, “A Strategy for Arts and Culture,” by 9am on Monday, June 26, 2017.
