THIS IS NOT A PERMIT. A permit will be issued once your application has been approved.

Regulations for Artists in the Park:

  • Applications will be made in writing to the Cultural Services Manager, and while no jurying of applications will take place, artists may be refused a permit based on the goals of the program;
  • All work must be the original work of the permitted artist;
  • As the intent of the program is to exhibit and demonstrate the process of producing art, artists are required to do their work on-site;
  • All work is to be displayed on standard art easels or approved display stands and the top of the display may not exceed 1.5 meters (5 ft) in height. Portable walls, booths or pop-up tents are not allowed. Patio umbrellas are permitted. Paintings may not be stacked in piles. Unframed work may be displayed in a sling or attractive display box;
  • Artists must be prepared to provide their permit number if asked;
  • Artists may display a card (maximum 5 inches x 7 inches) indicating name, address and phone number;
  • Park bylaws must be observed. Artists will behave in such a way as to maintain harmony in the park;
  • Artists will not pressure the public to buy any work, matting or packaging. Artists will not leave their area, enter another artist's area to pursue customers or solicit customers from another artist's area
  • Only radio/CD/MP3 players with earphones may be used on-site;
  • The Cultural Services Manager reserves the right to revoke the artist’s permit immediately if the artist's behaviour, in the opinion of the Cultural Services Manager or Bylaw Enforcement Officer, is incompatible with the goals of the program;
  • Acoustic musicians are invited to participate, no amplification of music is permitted; and
  • All artists must adhere to the parking regulations for the program as outlined in the confirmation package.
