Art at Council March 10, 2015 - Just Eat It | Film
Josh Cabrita, Artistic Director of the 15th Annual Port Moody Canadian Film Festival was on hand to screen the trailer for the documentary Just Eat It. The festival runs March 12 - 15, 2015 and the line up includes 6 shorts and 6 features made by Canadian artists from the Lower Mainland and throughout Canada.
Just Eat It will be screened on Saturday, March 14 at 9:30pm. The film was made by Vancouver film makers, Grant Baldwin and Jen Rustemeyer of Peg Leg Films, and they will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film.
A new addition to the Film Festival is University Shorts Contest, a student short film competition. Four finalists from local universities will have their films screened on Thursday, March 11 at 7:30pm before the Film Festival's opening feature, Xavier Dolan’s widely extolled film Mommy. The winning short film will be presented with a $1,000 cash prize. The jury is made up of professional film critics, Dana Gee, Jim Gordon, and Thor Diakow. The award will be presented on the last night of the festival, Sunday, March 15, 2015.
Everyone is invited to attend the 15th Annual Port Moody Canadian Film Festival running March 12-15, 2015. Tickets are $7 per screening and can be purchased every Festival evening starting at 6pm.
