Centennial House

Comment on the City of Port Moody’s plans, in partnership with the Arts Centre Society, to renovate Centennial House/Appleyard Residence for arts, culture and heritage uses. The Centennial House/Appleyard Residence was relocated from its present location on Clarke Street to 126 Kyle Street on Friday, July 6.

This project is subject to an Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw amendment to rezone the land from (RS1) One Family Residential to (P1) Public Service. The Arts Centre Society is working with the City of Port Moody to determine appropriate arts, culture and heritage uses for the building, including artists’ studios, gallery space, program space, gift shop and cafe. The Arts Centre Society proposes to apply for a Heritage Canada Legacy grant for the renovation scheduled to start in April or May, 2013, providing the necessary bylaw amendments are in place. We are seeking public input on both the bylaw amendment application as well as the specific uses proposed for the building.

Public Consultation

On June 28, 2012 the City held an open house at the Port Moody Arts Centre.
