Festival deadlines:
April 15: Deadline for submitting applications for literary arts projects.
May 5th & 6th: Final reviews and selection of projects for presentation at the festival.
July 27, 28, 29: Festival
Who can apply:
Applicants must be 13 to 18 years of age, unless applying to lead a literary arts seminar. First priority for admission into the festival will be given to residents of Port Moody, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam. Applicants from other municipalities will be considered after May 6th , if space is available.
Fees:
There are no entry fees for this year’s festival.
Guidelines for literary arts projects:
Writers may submit any written work in any style or combination of styles, including hand-written material, printed text, or digital writing, with or without graphics. Here are some possibilities:
Writing for Display:
(Hard copy projects could be shown as table-top displays or vertically mounted displays. Digital projects could be shown on monitors.)

Writers of any age wishing to lead one-hour seminars on any aspect of writing are welcome to submit proposals. Possible topics include:

These are suggestions. Any topic will be considered. The structure of the seminar, and any equipment required, would be the responsibility of the leader.
Logistical considerations:
If a project requires technical support (such as projectors, computers, monitors, cables, specialized lighting, etc.), the applicant will be responsible for supplying, operating, and safeguarding the equipment.
Inlet Theatre mainstage spoken-word performances must be 15 minutes or less in length.
Spoken-word performances in non-traditional performance areas in the civic centre must be 30 minutes or less in length.

When we receive your application:
We will start an ongoing conversation about your project. We want you to succeed, and we will do what we can to help you. Final reviews, auditions, and selection of projects will take place on May 5 and 6.
