Applicants from other municipalities will be considered after May 6 , if space is available.

Fees:

There are no entry fees for this year’s festival.

Guidelines for dance arts projects:

Creativity and originality are encouraged. Innovative, fresh ideas for dance performances are very welcome. Traditional dancing is, of, course, also welcome.

Performance Possibilities:

Any style of dancing: ballet, jazz, modern, tap, swing, ballroom, hip-hop etc.
Dance as Story-Telling
Creative/Interpretive Dancing

These are suggestions. Any dance arts project in any form or combination will be considered for admission to the festival.

Dance Arts Seminars and Workshops:

Dance arts enthusiasts of any age wishing to lead one-hour seminars or workshops on any aspect of dance are welcome to submit proposals. Possible topics include:

Sharing Sessions on Any Dance Style
Introduction to a Dance Style
Intermediate or Advanced Seminars on Any Dance Style
Creative Approaches to Dance

These are suggestions. Any topic will be considered. The structure of the seminar, and any equipment required, will be the responsibility of the leader.

Logistical Considerations:

If a project requires specialized technical support (such as projectors, computers, monitors, cables, specialized sound equipment, etc.), the applicant will be responsible for supplying, operating, and safeguarding the equipment.

Mainstage dance performances must be 15 minutes or less in length.

Performances in non-traditional performance areas in the civic centre must be 15 minutes or less in length.

No bulky, heavy sets or backgrounds are allowed as time and space is limited.
