These documents contain the Development Permit Area guidelines for the City of Port Moody.

Development Permits are authorized under the Municipal Act (Sections 945 and 976) for a number of specific situations: protection of the natural environment, protection of development from hazardous conditions, protection of heritage sites, revitalization of commercial districts, and the establishment of objectives and guidelines that will affect the form and character of commercial, industrial, and multiple-family housing development. The multiple-family housing guidelines include any development with two or more residential units on a single lot.

All subject developments falling within a Development Permit Area (see Figure 1) shall strive to meet the pertinent design guidelines or to achieve equivalencies which meet the intent of the guidelines.
