Nominations are in for the 2012 Spike Awards!

The City of Port Moody received over 250 nominations for this year’s 2012 Spike Business Awards. Community members told us what businesses made a lasting impression, praising everything from quality service to memorable atmospheres to first-class sustainable practices.
“We received a great mix of nominations,” said Councillor Diana Dilworth, chair of the Economic Development Committee. “There are businesses that have called Port Moody home for a number of years, and still strike a chord with the community. Then we’ve got the newcomers, who have obviously made a strong first impression.”
“The Spike Awards give us a chance to recognize those businesses that make Port Moody a complete community,” said Mayor Mike Clay. “They’re an important part of who we are.”
While this year’s batch of nominees is now set, there’s still time to get involved with the 2012 Spike Awards. Sign up for our One-Minute Pitch competition and wow the crowd with your undeveloped idea, product or service. You’ll have one minute and one PowerPoint slide – email us with the subject line “One Minute Pitch” or call 604.469.4540 to sign up.
The 7th annual Spike Awards are presented at a gala evening at Port Moody City Hall on October 18.
