Keep bears away from your food scraps by managing and storing green carts properly
Posted Date: May 16, 2012
Spring weather means that bears are already moving through Port Moody looking for food. To reduce their access to your food scraps, we’re now picking up green carts before recycling or garbage on your collection day.

Avoid encounters with bear by managing your carts correctly. Bylaw #2816 directs residents to put carts out between 5:30am and 7:30am, and bring them in before nightfall. Keep your lids securely closed and locked, until the morning of your collection. Finally, remember to store your carts in your garage, shed or carport – not in your front yard.
