The City of Port Moody has had its own police department since 1913. The Department is composed of 42 uniformed members and 13 civilian members who each demonstrate a strong commitment to our community. The Department motto is "no call too small" and this philosophy is reflected in an average response time of less than four minutes to calls for service. The community is proud of their enviable low crime rate and attributes this low rate to the cooperative relationship between the Police Department and the citizens of the City. The Port Moody Police Department is situated at 3051 St. Johns Street.

Eagle Ridge Hospital

Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre is the community's nearest hospital, located at 475 Guildford Way. Eagle Ridge is a 95-bed acute care hospital with an adjacent 75-bed continuing care facility. 604.461.2022

We have our own Fire-Rescue department consisting of seven vehicles, two stations, 40 career and 20 volunteer firefighters, providing 24-hour protection. As you can imagine, these folks are very keen on prevention strategies. Both career and volunteer personnel are trained to B.C. Firefighter Standards and both work together to respond to emergencies in our community. Career personnel also undergo specialized training in hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and more. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer and are in excellent physical condition, a resident of Port Moody, and civic minded, please send a brief note stating your interest to:
