Earth Day in Port Moody

Earth Day in Port Moody
April 14 from 2–5pm
Inlet Theatre and Galleria (100 Newport Drive)

Earth Day is the world’s largest environmental movement. In Port Moody, we’re kicking off the celebrations early with a free, family event!

  • head out on a bird walk with the Burke Mountain Naturalists (2–2:45pm, meet in the Galleria)
  • participate in Portrait of a City, a new community art project facilitated by the City’s resident artist, Sara Graham. Draw what you love about nature and wildlife in Port Moody – your sketch will be integrated into a fence railing later this summer (2–5pm)
  • help plant Port Moody’s Canada 150 eco-sculpture and enjoy earth-friendly crafts, activities, and more (2–5pm)
  • enjoy a special Earth Day story time presented by the Port Moody Public Library (2:15–2:45pm)
  • brush up on your Bear Essentials with Tom Saare, chair of the North Shore Black Bear Society, instructor at the BCIT Fish, Wildlife and Recreation Program, and member of the International Association for Bear Research and Management (3–4pm)
  • watch a free screening of The Clean Bin Project- a multi-award winning and festival favorite film that explores how we can all reduce the amount of waste we create (4–5pm)
  • Enjoy a curated selection of Earth-inspired art by the Port Moody Art Association from April 14-18 in the Galleria
