Mayor's Summertime Celebration 630

Time to celebrate with Mayor Mike Clay! Grab the family, and join us for our second annual Mayor’s Summertime Celebration. This free event is fun for the whole family – come for the BBQ, and stay for a ride down the 20’ slide. We’ll have balloon animals, face painting, and freezies for all. Here’s the plan:

1pm-4pm: Family BBQ

hot dogMembers of the Port Moody Volunteer Firefighter’s Association are throwing hotdogs on the grill, and we’ll have freezies and lemonade to beat the heat. The BBQ happens until 4pm (or while supplies last), so make a plan to come early, and grab a bite with folks from your community.

1pm-8pm: LOTS of entertainment!

bounce house Beat summer boredom here! Race through the obstacle course and take a ride down our 20’ inflatable slide. Face painters, balloon artists, and a nylon zoo round out the entertainment.

Yellow Line

July 28 is a jammed pack day of entertainment behind the Civic Complex!
  • 3pm-6pm: Kids and adults alike can help us complete our bear-themed eco-sculpture by inserting small plants into the compacted soil that fills the sculpture’s metal frame.
  • 5pm-8pm: Port Moody is the first stop on the CP Canada 150 Train, where 10 beautifully restored Royal Canadian Pacific heritage cars will make a grand entrance, along with Aboriginal entertainer and world champion hoop dancer Dallas Arcand, and country music superstar Dean Brody.

How to get to Port Moody's Civic Complex

Parking will be extremely limited, as partial closures will be in effect at the Civic Complex. The City recommends alternative modes of transportation. See below for information on travelling by bus or SkyTrain, or on foot. Give yourself lots of time to get to all of the events!
