NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION
(Ailsa Park – Spraypark Improvements)
Please be advised that the City will be carrying out work related to improving the spraypark facility at Ailsa Park. This work will include removal of the existing splashpad surface, installation of new water supply lines and spray toy feature bases, and placement of a new (asphalt) spray pad surface.
Work began May 11, 2015, and is anticipated to take 6-8 weeks, with a tentative completion date of June 30, 2015.
While it was our intention to limit the scope of work to primarily surface repairs, favorable pricing from our contractors has allowed for a broader scope of improvements including installation of new supply lines, provision of new fixture bases, and four new “ground spray” toy features. Three additional temporary “ground spray” units will also be provided, which will allow for the phased placement of additional spray toy features (as part of future budget considerations). While this additional work will result in a significantly better community facility, it does require more time to complete. At this time, the Ailsa Spray Park facility is expected to be ready for use by July 1, 2015.
It is anticipated that the addition of these features will extend the useful life and functionality of this facility, as well as provide a much more dynamic and enjoyable community recreation asset.
