Where to Start
Before submitting an application to host an event in Port Moody, it is important to take the time to read the Festival and Special Event Handbook and Sustainable Events Policy. These documents will provide you with important information on the City’s requirements, expectations, and available support as you prepare your application and plan your event.

Which Application Form Should I Use?
Use the Application for a New Festival or Special Event if:

  • you are proposing a new event for Port Moody;
  • significant changes are being proposed to your returning event;
  • you are a new organizer taking over an existing event; or
  • you are bringing a past event back to Port Moody after taking a break.

Use the Application for an Existing Festival or Special Event if:

  • your event took place last year and you have no significant changes.

Funding Support for Events
The City recognizes the important role that special events play in a healthy and vibrant community and offers several programs to assist with various types and sizes of events. Please use the City Grant Programs link on the right hand side to review the full details and qualification requirements for each program. The programs available are:

Fee Waivers – this program provides small value fee waivers and is available to qualifying Port Moody based groups for a variety of events and activities.

Festival and Special Event Assistance Program – this program provides fee waivers, in-kind support, and financial grants to qualifying groups/festivals of all sizes. (see Grants and Scholarship Programs)

Artist Grant Program – this program is primarily geared towards supporting individual artists but can also be accessed to support small grass-roots special events focused on the arts that need a little extra help. (see Grants and Scholarship Programs)

Marketing Support for Events
The City has several opportunities to help promote your event. The support available does vary slightly depending on the type of event, so please see section 18 of the Festival and Special Event Handbook for full details. You’ll find links to the promotional support forms on the right.

There are currently no application forms for requesting space on the Galleria TVs or placing signs at the entrance to the Civic Complex (corner of Ioco Road and Newport Drive). Please use the email links on the right to make your request. Include the date(s) of your event and we will get back to you with space availability and size specifications.
