At a gala held at Port Moody City Hall October 18, 2018, the City recognized Port Moody businesses that impressed residents in a variety of ways, from their street appeal and great customer service to their business spirit and environmental leadership.
“This year, we received a record 1,142 nominations for 137 businesses in eight categories,” said Councillor Diana Dilworth, Chair of the Economic Development Committee. “The Spike Business Awards are a wonderful way to recognize local business owners and operators who embrace creativity and innovation, and strive for excellence in customer service.”
“Our small and home-based businesses contribute to the community in so many ways, and they are a big part of what makes Port Moody such a great place to live,” said Mayor Mike Clay. “On behalf of Council, I congratulate all the winners and nominees for 2018.”
The Spike Business Awards celebrate the contribution of Port Moody businesses to the community, and are presented each year during Small Business Week in Canada. The City of Port Moody’s Economic Development Committee selects the winners, based on nominations received from the public.
