CRAIG SHISHIDO – Technical Advisor, Metro Vancouver Solid Waste Services
craig shishido  Craig has been active in the areas of environmental policy and sustainability for over 20 years. This included solid waste management, air quality management, green house gas management, liquid waste, green buildings and demand side management. His current position is with the Zero Waste Implementation team of Metro Vancouver’s Solid Waste Department and today he is here to talk trash.
NEAL CARLEY – General Manager, Engineering and Parks, City of Port Moody

Neal joined the City of Port at the start of 2013 and is the General Manager responsible for Engineering, Parks and Public Works, which includes recycling, green waste and solid waste. Previous to the City of Port Moody, Neal worked for the City of Vancouver, Greater Vancouver Regional District (now Metro Vancouver), Kerr Wood Leidal and ran his own environmental consulting firm for 10 years.

Neal has served as President of the BC Water and Waste Association, President of the Recycling Council of British Columbia, Director of the Water Environmental Federation, Director of the Waste Management Association of BC and is currently the Chair for the Municipal Engineers division of APEGBC.

Neal has a Bachelors of Civil Engineering and a Masters of Environmental Engineering, both from the University of British Columbia.

Throughout his career, Neal has focused on leadership and organizational development, strategic planning, and team dynamics at both the technical and management levels.

JOJI KUMAGAI – Executive Director, Strathcona Business Improvement Association

Joji is Executive Director of the Strathcona Business Improvement Association, and formerly Executive DIrector of Tonari Gumi. He is a second-generation Japanese Canadian, with deep roots in the local Japanese Canadian community. He combines his expertise in ecology and toxicology with his knowledge of business processes and networking to create communities of business centered on concepts of sustainability. He sits on several boards including One Earth Initiative, a sustainable consumption and production think and do tank.
JACLYN MCPHADDEN – Managing Partner, Sustainability Consultant

Jaclyn has extensive experience in project management and logistics and as a result, she leads the analysis and implementation division of RecycleSmart. Jaclyn has audited large hotels, marinas, manufacturing plants, and institutions and her client portfolio extends across Canada. Jaclyn manages the operations team to ensure that RecycleSmart clients have the competitive edge, by integrating profitability with sustainability all wrapped in service excellence!

Jaclyn holds an MBA from the Sauder School of business at UBC and obtained a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Victoria.
