The Rotary Bike Trials park at 2800 Murray St. is a familiar sight to Port Moody residents, but has recently undergone a transformation.
Seismic upgrading of the Moody Street Overpass necessitated the closure of the bike trials park.
The Rotary club took advantage of the closure to revamp and upgrade the park. Bike trials users drew up the initial design. Bike trials users were extensively consulted during the re-installation of the park on the design and additional improvements.
Funding for the project came from the Rotary Club and Flavelle Cedar Mill donated logs. Other features inlude ‘repurposed’ logs, tires, and concrete barriers – sustainable features which helps to keep items out of the landfill. Additional logs will eventually be installed from local tree removals.
