Find out more about Drinking Water Week!
Among the many services the City provides, the Engineering & Operations Department is responsible for the "hidden" services that we have all come to rely on as part of our daily lives, whether at work or play. Otherwise referred to as the City's infrastructure, these services include:
- Ensuring that we have clean and safe drinking water, which is supplied through underground pipes.
- Maintaining a separate system of underground pipes to collect the sewer or waste water for proper treatment prior to discharging it to the environment.
- Providing and maintaining the City's roads, sidewalks, streetlights, signage and lane markings.
- Providing other key services including street cleaning and solid waste collection.
To report a problem, such as a pothole or broken streetlight or other such hazard, please call 604.469.4574
If you require assistance after normal working hours (3:30pm to 7:00am Monday to Friday or 24 hours a day Saturday, Sunday or Statuary Holidays) you can call the same number: 604.469.4574. Your call will be forwarded to an after-hours non-emergency dispatch service and City staff will contact you within approximately a half hour to confirm the information and determine the appropriate response.
